A Day of Small Victories

A cozy image of Victorian-style teacups with purple floral patterns and golden accents, each holding small seedlings, placed near a window with soft light, and accented with doodles of hearts and washi tape.

Today wasn’t the most eventful, but I found small victories in the quiet moments. Since my injury, my days look different.

My limited mobility and bouts of pain make it difficult to plan or check things off my list. But I try to take each day as it comes.

What I Did Today

Laundry Success

I managed to finish three small loads of laundry and hang them out.

Not the most glamorous task, but sometimes it’s these small wins that make me feel accomplished, especially when pain makes it hard to do much else.

Planting Seeds – My Little Promise of Growth

I also planted four different types of seeds today. Even though it's winter, my plan is to propagate these herbs indoors.

I’ve set them in recycled Cadbury Dairy Milk Pudding cups and placed them in a plastic muffin container to create condensation, helping them grow.

They’re near the radiator for warmth, but as I’m typing this, I’m thinking of moving them next to our fish tank. It’s 105 L, heated to 24°C, so that might help the seeds propagate faster.

I planted two types of basil—sweet basil and Thai basil—along with sage and garlic dill.

I’m excited to see how they grow and will keep you updated!

What I Watched Today

Morel Mushrooms and a New Discovery

I watched an intriguing YouTube video by British YouTuber Just Alex, where he takes a trip to Canada to learn about harvesting morel mushrooms.

A new appreciation for nature's hidden gems!

There’s something so satisfying about seeing nature up close, and I found myself drawn into the world of mushroom foraging.

After watching his video, I went down a rabbit hole of mushroom foraging videos!

I love seaside foraging, and now I’ve added mushroom foraging to my list.

I’ll share some of my favourite foragers on YouTube in a future blog post. Here’s the link to the video if you’re curious—it's an informative watch.

TV Show Finale

I also finished the final episode of Found Season 1, and it left me on the edge of my seat. I can’t wait for the next season! The main reason I started watching this show is because of Shanola Hampton, who was fantastic in Shameless (US).

Shanola Hampton shines in her lead role on Found—an inspiring journey of strength and resilience.

In
Found, she plays a private investigator who helps bring lost or kidnapped individuals back home. Her character leads the show brilliantly, and she’s a powerful actor in this role.

Reflections and Gratitude

Even though my day didn’t seem as productive as it used to be, I’m using these daily blog posts to focus on what I did accomplish. Little things like planting seeds and watching videos that interest me keep me grounded. Reflecting on these moments helps me recognize my progress and believe in myself and my abilities.

Savoring a peaceful moment with my favorite mug in hand. Sometimes, it's the little things that keep me grounded.

While I might not be able to walk or be on my feet as much as I’d like, this injury has allowed me to tap into my creativity.

Lately, I’ve found myself designing templates, labels, and most recently, recreating pub and restaurant menus.

It’s funny—I didn’t think my brain could grasp design, but now it’s how I spend most of my time. My Canva Premium subscription has become one of my monthly must-haves.

Days like today remind me that productivity doesn’t always mean doing something big—it’s about doing what I can and finding joy in it.

Today’s Playlist

Today, I had this song on repeat: Moonlit Sky by WiGy. It has an uplifting beat that kept me going, even when I was feeling a bit down.

I can’t dance like I used to, but it reminds me of dancing the night away. You can check it out here.

Final Thoughts

Today may have been quieter than most, but I’m learning to appreciate these small victories and moments of growth—both in my plants and in myself.

Even on tough days, there’s always something to be grateful for, and sharing these reflections has become a way to remind myself of that.A sticker with the phrase 'Proud of Myself' in hand-drawn script, symbolizing self-affirmation and pride in small achievements.

I’d love to hear from you! What small victories did you accomplish today? Whether it’s planting seeds or finishing a simple task, let’s celebrate the little wins together.
