Savouring the Little Moments with Scrapbooking

Do you ever feel like time slips through your fingers, especially after the rush of the holidays?

January might feel like the longest month, but once February, with its 28 days (or sometimes more),

is over, time seems to pick up. Suddenly, it's May, and I find myself wondering where the time has gone.

Amidst the hustle of daily life, it's easy to overlook the small victories and moments that bring us joy.

If you’re anything like me and often forget these little wins, I’d like to introduce you to scrapbooking. Scrapbooking is a beautiful method of preserving, presenting, and arranging personal and family history. It involves creating albums filled with photographs, printed media, artwork, and journal entries.

Since I started, scrapbooking has boosted my self-esteem. I tend to be my own worst critic,

often doubting my achievements.

But through scrapbooking, I’ve learned to appreciate and celebrate my small accomplishments.

It's like levelling up a character in a video game by completing smaller quests—each little victory adds up

to something bigger and more rewarding.

Benefits of Scrapbooking

Scrapbooking isn’t just about preserving memories; it offers numerous benefits. It can help reduce stress,

boost self-esteem, and foster creativity. When you take time to document your life, you start noticing

and appreciating the small joys more.

Discovering Scrapbooking

Every page I create centres on moments of joy or achievements, no matter how small. Reflecting on these

moments, even amidst chaos or depression, has reminded me that I can still find reasons to smile.

Getting Started

  • Pinterest: A treasure trove for free images and ideas.
  • Etsy: Offers packs of digital and printable scrapbooking elements at great prices.
  • Gumroad: A hidden gem with tons of free and paid scrapbooking and diy elements and ideas.

Creating My Own Designs

Designing stickers and pages has unleashed my creativity. I aim to make elements that are beautiful, cozy,

and accessible. One thing I noticed is that many scrapbooking packs can be overwhelming,

with hundreds of pages and elements that might never get used.

My designs are intentionally kept small and manageable. You won't ever get more than you need.

This makes it easier to see the use for each element and incorporate them into your designs without

feeling overwhelmed.

If you’re interested in enhancing your scrapbooking, check out my Gumroad.

Everything is listed for free, with an option to donate if you’d like.

I’d love to see how you use my designs, so don’t hesitate to share your creations

with me on Instagram or Pinterest.

Tips for Making Scrapbooking a Regular Habit

  • Daily Highlights: Never end your day without highlighting key points. Even jotting down a few notes about your day can help.
  • Weekly Gatherings: For weekly scrapbooks, gather pictures nightly and write little tidbits in your notes that can go with the images.

  • Use Canva: I use Canva, which is only $12.99 a month, giving access to numerous customizable templaes and creative tools. Not only can you create your own designs, but Canva also offers plenty of ready-to-use templates.
